Website re-updated

Hey kids, the internet has once again been improved. If you sent me a description or schedule change (I know someone sent me a request for a form to be uploaded) and I didn't get back to you or it's not on the page as you like it, I probably lost your email because I'm flaky. Please send it again to wxbc tech.

I'll really do it this time, I promise.

Due to Fall break, programming will be on hiatus from Friday October 8th through Tuesday October 12th, to resume on Wednesday. DJs can feel free to have their shows, but nothing is obligatory.

FYI: the show schedules are at last completely, totally updated; check your show and email me at wxbctech@bard.edu if there are any other changes you'd like made, and I will sell your address to as many spammers as possible.

Hah, ha.

But no seriously, check it out.

Time is running out to submit applications... the deadline is this Monday: www.loveandradio.com/wxbcapp.html.

New and improved applications online.

Want to draw a cute picture on your application? Want to write an extra note in the margins? Too bad.

Welcome to the soul-crushing world of computers.

Applications due September 6

(Those of you who have some web programming skillz will probably notice my code is really messy. Unfortunately, I know about as much about server-side scripts as a retarded moose. Deal.)

All incoming first year students,
WXBC will be hosting an open house at some point during L&T. We would really like for all you who are interested in becoming involved in the station to come buy. Look for more information once you arrive on campus. Also, anyone who is interested should feel free to email either me or Nick with your ideas for the coming semester. Just go to the staff page to find our email addresses.

Attention all listeners and potential listeners: Your friendly DJs at Corporal Jigsore Quandary feel it is necessary to alert you to the fact that your current taste in music is utterly degenerate, effete and weak.

We understand that this might trouble you, and thus also are here to provide you with a solution: death metal. If you feel that you simply must replace your current laughable aesthetic with something a little bit more noble and/or majestic, then we suggest - nay, implore - that you allow us to present you with the finest in extreme metal: death, black, thrash and doom.

Else, we fear that you will remain stuck in the mire of mediocre mainstream musical experience and will be consumed by the glorious and inhuman fires of metal when Ragnarok comes.

Hail Satan, and listen in!

Saturday, May 08, 2004

The broadcasting season ends tomorrow night at 2am. Thanks for tuning in to our abbreviated schedule. WXBC will be back in full force September 18. If you're interested in having a show next semester, check back here at wxbc.bard.edu for announcements about online applications. Have a great summer!

Nookie Not Nukie pictures up n' runnin'

Jesse suggested I put up the Nookie Not Nukie pictures, which seemed like a good plan. And in a kind of lazy, round-about fashion I did:

wxbc.bard.edu/party.html

"But Adrianne," you say, "how is anyone supposed to find this page if there's no side link?"

"And Adrianne," you might add, "you clearly just altered the staff.html file."

I'd stare at you with repressed rage. "See, the staff button's highlighted. I notice these things," you'd say smugly. I hate it when you get like this; you know that. Don't you think I have better things to do than learning how to make a gif? Don't you think I've thought back to that day when I said 'I do' and wondered if today, I would say, 'I don't'? Don't you think we've had enough fights like this?

Anyway, so that's up. If anyone has any more pictures (or has any ideas about making a "party" button), send the emails my way.

Party! Party like it's party.html!

Missed last Sunday's interview with Leon Botstein on sex? Have no fear, a copy of the show is now on the archives section of this website. Click here.

A new history written by yours truly is now up on the WXBC website (click here). It's pretty scant, so if you happen to know more about the station's history, particularly in the 50s and 60, drop me a line.

Thursday, February 05, 2004

The new studio will be finished in the next couple weeks. In the meantime, why not come to the WXBC Feel Good Dance Party this Saturday at 10pm in the Old Gym? Great funk and soul dance music, refreshments, and free WXBC T-shirts.

Monday, January 26, 2004

Application deadline extended.

New deadline: 5pm, Sunday February 1st. Pick up an application at the Campus Center Post Office and drop it in campus mail.

WXBC DJs are, like, 830% cooler than the average Bard student, so do yourself a favor and head on down to the campus center.
WXBC Info-doohicky
4pm, Friday Jan 30 in the Campus Center First Floor Lounge.

Come and hear about the progress of the station and get a chance to ask questions of the staff. Open to all.
